About Me

Malik André portrait

As an Art Director, motion graphics designer and illustrator, I still feel privileged to do what I love.

What I value most about my work is human interaction: my relationships with the people with whom I collaborate and the projects that often flourish from a chance meeting between talented creatives and entrepreneurs.

One of the most meaningful rewards of my career

has been the mentoring of young designers over

the last 20 years; enriching creative dialog taught me new trends and expressions in design, technology, and problem-solving, while I transmitted my soft skills and technical experience to help them engage their unique talents and guide them toward fulfilling careers with confidence.

Like most children, I began drawing at the age of six. However, I continued to imagine, create and design. I started my career as the co-founder and art director of a popular Eighties French rock magazine and had short stints designing for theater and advertising for McCann Erickson.

My entrée into film and motion graphic design came when I was a post-production manager and trainer for an international advertising company, affiliated with Canal+ and the France Television group, based in the Indian Ocean, with satellite offices in the Caribbean and the Pacific.

In 2002, I co-founded and co-directed Ooh! Collective, an audiovisual production company with Didier Cappelmans. Together, we had a successful 15-year run art directing, producing content and designing for French television companies and consulting B2B clients on their visual identity, content production, and marketing communication strategy.

Among our more prestigious clients were the CANAL+ GROUPE, TV5MONDE, FOX,

the France Televisions group and the TF1 GROUPE. Our experience with such diverse clients gave us the capacity to adapt quickly to various themes in the world of television, including Lifestyle, News, Youth, Entertainment, Science, Culture and Sports. Some of our major B2B clients included Crédit Agricole and energy giant GDF SUEZ as well as private and public institutions in France and Belgium.

Today, I continue to collaborate with longstanding clients while expanding my expertise

from television and print to include content production and design for digital media.

I aim to bring human-centered creative design at the intersection of television, cultural education

and digital medium.
